a different world

Entering a monastery to me feels like entering a complete different world. I walked in Nga Phe Kyaung, a monastery on Inle Lake and wandered around the main room which is the prayer and living room with a huge Buddha in the centre. One of the monks was cleaning the floor with a robe, which was quite an odd scenery. I was the only visitor that morning and felt like an intruder. But I was captivated by the setting and the building itself. It has a mystic touch as it sits on stilts with the gentle sound of the water beneath and a slight feeling of movement.
